The seventh edition of the La Teste September yearling sale recorded good results thanks to the quality of yearlings consigned and to the increasing number of buyers.

Tattersalls, Europe's leading bloodstock auctionneers, has annouced that it has formed a strategic alliance with the young sales company osarus. The alliance will see close ties between the two companies with Tattersalls providing logistical and financial support. With Tattersalls notoriety and the work accomplished by Osarus, the french bloodstock scene should develop to the benefit of french breeders.
Commenting on the new association, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;
"This new alliance is an exciting venture for both Tattersalls and Osarus. We have been closely observing the progress and development of Osarus for a while now and have been enormously impressed with the way in which the team has established a niche in the french marcket in a relatively short space of time.Osarus is a french company working assiduously for french breeders and we hope that our new arrangement will allow then to continue to develop and build upon the sccess that they have worked so hard to achieve in recent years.
"Our involvement with Osarus also reflects the importance that Tattersalls has always placed on building and strengthening relationships in key markets around the world. The french racing and breeding industry is well structured and well funded and the close ties between Tattersalls and Osarus emphasise the high regard in which we hold both Osarus and the wider french industry."
Emmanuel Viaud, Managing Directornof Osarus, commented:
"This is a very significant moment in the continuing development of Osarus. This strategic alliance with the leading bloodstock auctionneers in europe is a huge endorsement for the young agency that we are and for the french bloodstock industry in general.
We are a young, ambitious team with a vision based on our confidence in the french breeding industry and we are delighted that Tattersalls shares our vision. Osarus has enjoyed its best ever year in 2012, in partucular at our flagship September yearling sale at la Teste. With our new partners Tattersalls, we look forward to building on this success and to continuing to provide the possible service to french breeders in the years to come."
With an important percentage of horses sold (near 80%) and a turnover of €717,600, Osarus has ended its November sale at Le Lion d'Angers, as well as the year, on a positive note.
The dynamic which began in April with the launching of the Pornichet all weather track Breeze-up, followed by the La teste September yearling sale, was confirmed during Osarus' last sale of the year.
The customer prospecting which began in the spring has been fruitful, as new international buyers (including Tunisian, Lybian, Italian and Irish customers), were very active.
The succes on the track of horses presented at Osarus sales has also contributed greatly to these results, with LES BEAUFS as the top of the list after his win in the Prix Royal Oak (Gr.1).
The activity was supported throughout the two days sale by international bloodstock agents such as MAB Agency, Agence FIPS, Hautières Bloodstock (Guillaume Gorse), Guy Petit, Paul Nataf (24 lots) as well as trainers Keven Borgel, Nicolas de Balanda and Guy Cherel.

OSARUS favours precocity for the La Teste September sale and the good results of horses sold, such as DARLING STORY who won the Prix Delahante (L.) on the 13th November 2010 at Marseille-Borély, confirm the quality of horses offered at OSARUS sales. OSARUS also attempted a National Hunt sale at Pau on the 17th January 2009, with half-satisfying results. However, several lots offered at this sale have since shown talent on the tracks in France as well as overseas :
• VICBILH (Loup Solitaire), winner of the Prix Sambristan at Enghien on the 17th November 2010 by 8 lengths and already winner of a Listed race, earning a total of € 113 970.
• NADIYA DE LA VEGA (Lost World), winner of the Highflyer Bloodstock Four Years Old Novices’Chase (Class 3) at Warwick on the 17th November 2010, made an impressive start to her career in the UK, winning by 13 lengths. From four outings she boasts 2 wins and 2 places.
• KING DU LEMO (Indian River), 2nd in the Prix Antoine de Palaminy at Pau (L.) and 4th of the Prix Triquerville at Auteuil (L.) on the 30th October 2010.
• MASSENA (Marju), trained by Jehan BERTRAN de BALANDA, 2nd for his debut at Auteuil in the Prix Emilius on the 30th October 2010. Bought back for € 48 000 by his owner at Pau in January 2009, he made the top price of the Autumn St Cloud sales 22 months later, when he was sold for €150 000.
• PRESIDENT NOIR (Lavirco), winner of the Prix de Menton (hurdles) at Compiègne on the 19th November 2010. He has earned a total of € 79 520.
